I am using xming to do X11 forwarding to a Linux computer (from a windows 8), and generally it works well: it just tends to be a bit sluggish. One of the problems I am coming across however is that, when I have Netbeans (7.3) open I can't actually use any of the drop down menus at the top. I can click it and it will open but I cannot actually choose any options and then the menu seems to 'time out' almost and disappear.
A use case is, I want to change the main project. So I go to Run and open it. I try to go down to Set Main Project but it never highlights the option and therefore I cannot choose which program I want to be the main one. It isn't just this option that isn't working, however, I can't select anything in the drop downs.
The command that I use to run netbeans from the command line is this:
ln -s /home/ME/netbeans-7.3/bin/netbeans /usr/local/bin/netbeans
So I can just type 'netbeans' to open it.
SO. My question is this: Is there a set of options (memory, compute power, etc) that I can give either to the command line, or Xming/Xlaunch to make the program run smoother?
